At Shelburne Veterinary Hospital, we have experience treating small mammals. We can provide guidance on appropriate husbandry, help identify health issues as they arise, and treat chronic and acute illness.
We recommend an annual wellness exam to be sure your small pet is healthy, and it gives us a baseline for future reference in the event your pet is ever sick. Annual exams also give you time with our veterinarians so we can answer all your health, behavior, environment and nutrition questions.
Animals we commonly treat include rabbits, rodents, guinea pigs, chinchillas, and hedgehogs.

We do not treat wildlife. If you find an injured animal, we recommend you contact the VT Fish & Wildlife Department at 802-828-1000. Wild animals may have rabies or other diseases. We recommend that you not touch the animal or intervene unless directed to do so by VT Fish & Wildlife staff.
