Shelburne Veterinary Hospital has an opening for an experienced, full-time veterinary assistant. Our talented team of animal lovers provides exceptional care to our patients and a positive experience to our clients in a supportive team environment, with an emphasis on staff education and skill development.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, energetic team player who is organized and can communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment. Other qualifications are:

• One year of animal care experience required.
• An associate degree is required.
• Understanding of animal safety practices.
• Prioritizes safe interactions with various species of animals.
• Motivated to foster a positive atmosphere and utilize constructive criticism.
• Shows initiative and actively looks for ways to help others and stay busy.

Job Details: 

• Maintain efficient workflow.
• Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians in various tasks such as exams, treatments, diagnostics, and surgeries
• Help maintain a clean, safe and positive hospital environment.

Physical Demands: 

• Requires sitting, standing, kneeling, lifting, restraining, walking, speaking, hearing ability, visual accuracy, repetitive motions, fast reflexes.
• Ability to lift at least 50lbs

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Schedule:

• 8-hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

Education:

• Associate (Required)

Experience:

• Animal care/welfare: 1 year (Required)
