Dr. Elizabeth Martens joined Shelburne Veterinary Hospital in June 2020. Having grown up on a farm in the Finger Lakes region of New York, she developed her love of animals at an early age. She attended Cornell University for her undergraduate degree in animal science and later, for her veterinary degree.
In 2014 she joined the Peace Corps and served for 2 years as an agriculture volunteer in Panama. Her work focused on beef cattle husbandry and teaching English.
Dr. Martens lives in Shoreham and spends most of her time caring for the farm animals of Addison County as a large animal veterinarian. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, hiking, and kayaking with her husband and their dog.
Dr. Martens sees patients on Thursdays.
